FAQ – frequently asked questions

Q: My insurance company has asked me for a letter / certificate of authenticity- value. Do you offer these?

A: Yes, we can issue you a certificate of authenticity. If requesting value, we can only offer the SRP (Suggested Retail Price) for that item, or similar, based on today’s current pricing. If you are requesting a certificate / letter, please email us the request and include copies of any original paperwork you may have including sales receipt, dimensions of piece, framed or unframed, where and when purchased, title, type of art piece: if original painting or reproduction, a photo of the front and rear of item including a close up of the signature line, if a limited edition, a close up photo of the edition number usually on the bottom left or right corner. We understand that this is somewhat troublesome, but we are required by law to obtain the correct information.

Q: Can you give me a value / appraisal of my artwork?

A: Dale TerBush & Masterslight FAP are not licensed appraisers and thus cannot give you an investment appraisal. We can offer a letter stating the current SRP for that same item. If it is an original TerBush painting, we can give you the price of a comparable image of that size.

Q: How do I clean my artwork?

A: Original paintings have had a lacquer varnish applied to protect the acrylic paint. We suggest using a slightly damp, soft, non-shedding cotton rag. Applying very very soft pressure, wipe the front of the painting in a circular rotation. For a Limed Edition Giclee on canvas, we suggest the same method as above.

DO NOT ever apply water or chemicals directly to the front or rear of any canvas or paper art piece. Certain discoloration can and will occur. This will void any warranty and DTB/MFAP is not responsible for issues with your artwork resulting from failure to follow the suggested method. If you do not feel comfortable cleaning your art piece, please call us.
